These start with a whirl of&nbsp;<a data-external=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wind\">wind<\/a>, often made visible by&nbsp;<a data-external=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Smoke\">smoke<\/a>, and may occur when intense rising heat and turbulent wind conditions combine to form whirling&nbsp;<a data-external=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eddy_(fluid_dynamics)\">eddies<\/a>&nbsp;of air.
